The US Navy's newest Lieutenant Junior Grade!!!

Yesterday, I was priviledged to attend Shawn's promotion ceremony on the ship. He's now officially a Lt. j.g. The ceremony was brief. One other officerwas being promoted at the same time.

First they recite an oath

(CO Chidester--this guy's awesome--with the two Ensigns...they're awesome too)

Then we stick 'em with their shiny new Lt. jg bars

Then they re-sign their life away. Gotta love it!

GO NAVY!

What is YOUR favorite holiday treat?

Mine is fudge! (It's also my favorite non-holiday treat!)
I've made 4 batches of it already (I haven't EATEN 4 batches of it)
So far, my favorite has been chocolate with peanut butter swirl. Yum.
